Originally from Delaware, Hoody came to Texas to attend St. Edward's University in Austin. After graduating, he met his wife Yvonne, and originally planned on taking it easy, until the opportunity for success knocked on his door. In the Spring of 1989 he opened his own shop, allowing him to run the business how he felt it should be run, offering a more family friendly environment.
This approach proved to be extremely successful. With a down-home, family friendly place to enjoy a good meal, HOODY'S has become a popular staple in the community by people of all ages. Located directly across from Round Rock High School, it's not uncommon to see teenagers and adults alike, all stopping in for an amazing sandwich and a great dining experience.
Unlike other places, at HOODY'S you know it's about the people. Where else can you walk in and talk to the owner directly (especially about Notre Dame, or just sports in general), and possibly have him make your food? If he's not making your sandwich personally, then one of his dedicated employees is. The backbone of HOODY'S has been how he treats customers and his employees alike. When you walk in to HOODY'S, you know you'll see a familiar face. Alice has been behind the counter since the day HOODY'S first opened its doors, and Brad has been faithfully working there for over a decade. Even the local high school kids are welcome at HOODY'S, some of whom work throughout their high school and college nights/summers.
